I was listening to the Jim Rome show as I usually do in the mornings and as a run up to the annual Wooden Classic, Jim Rome had the legendary John Wooden on to speak about the state of the game, UCLA, Ben Howland and many more topics. What amazes me is not only Coach Wooden's wisdom but that at age 97 he is still as sharp as he was in his coaching days. Anyways, I want to leave you with some more of Coach Wooden's wisdom from some notes that I have,

John Wooden's Seven Point Creed, given to him by his father Joshua upon his graduation from grammar school:

#1 — To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, though canst not be false to any man.
#2 — Make each day your masterpiece. Live each day as it should be lived. Never leave until tomorrow what can be done today.
#3 — Help others. A perfect life can be lived in helping others.
#4 — Drink deeply from good books. The Bible is best
#5 — Don't take friendship for granted. Study friendship and make it a fine art.
#6 — Build a shelter against a rainy day.
#7 — Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.
